About the role
The Communications Department works with the Traffic Office's internal and external communications to develop and ensure that communication to residents and other stakeholders is accessible and clear. You work operationally on projects with communication and activity plans based on set strategies, driving communication forward within set time and budget frameworks. You collaborate closely with specialists and case handlers within the operations, as well as with external partners. This can range from residents and businesses to organizations and other authorities. The role requires strategic and strong operational knowledge of communication and stakeholder management.
Other duties for the role:
- Ensure that information reaches the relevant parties and target groups for the project
- Write procurement documents and texts for various channels
- Conduct evaluation and follow-up of communication efforts
- Visit and proactive engagement with stakeholders in the city
- Manage orders for communication services, formulate messages, and write texts for various channels
- Keep stakeholders updated continuously via web, newsletters, and by conducting information meetings and events
Contract period and scope
The role of Project Communicator is a full-time consultancy assignment starting on 17/8/2026 and is expected to run until 14/4/2027, with the possibility of extension.
The work is primarily performed on-site at Tekniska nämndhuset, Flemminggatan 4 in Stockholm during office hours.
Requirements for the role:
- Academic education in communication or equivalent
- Current and at least 5 years of experience in strategic and operational communication work with a focus on external target groups
- Current work experience in stakeholder management and handling external stakeholders
- Experience as a project manager for communication initiatives
- Experience with budget responsibility and as a buyer of communication services
- Experience from the public sector or politically governed organization
- Operational work with project communication within infrastructure or urban development for at least 5 years
- Experience in organizing events
- At least 5 years of experience as a communicator, communications manager, or communications director
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English – both spoken and written
