About the RoleDo you want to work with advanced materials issues in an environment where the demands on quality, strength, and lifespan are very high? In this role, you will become a key person in surface technology and metals, with a focus on additive manufacturing. You will work closely with both design and production, contributing specialist knowledge in a technically complex development and production context within the defense and aerospace industries.
You will tackle issues that directly impact how materials and processes function in practice, from qualification and investigation to improvement work and technical advisory. The role suits you if you thrive when combining deep materials engineering competence with collaboration across multiple disciplines. Responsibilities- You lead investigations and qualifications related to materials and processes in additive manufacturing.
- You assess the suitability of materials based on requirements such as strength, function, and lifespan.
- You support design and production in technical deviations, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- You produce technical reports and requirement documents for material processes in production.
- You train and guide colleagues in the handling and application of materials.
- You follow developments in new materials and methods and contribute to technical improvements.
- At least 8 years of experience in materials engineering.
- Extensive competence in additive manufacturing (AM).
- Good understanding of material function, properties, and associated processes.
- Relevant academic degree in chemistry, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with technical investigations and qualification work.
- Good ability to document and produce technical reports and requirement documents.
- Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to undergo and pass a security clearance (requires Swedish citizenship, dual citizenship is not accepted).
- Experience working close to production and applying materials in an industrial environment.
