Your Summer Job

As an occupational therapist within municipal healthcare, you carry out rehabilitation efforts and work on the patient's ability to perform activities related to daily life. Your work is performed in the patient's home – this could be in a nursing home, group home, service apartment, short-term care unit, or in a private residence.

You meet patients of various ages with varying care needs. Therefore, your interventions always start from each individual's abilities and resources, with the goal of promoting participation, independence, and health. In daily work, you collaborate with experienced and knowledgeable colleagues from other professions, such as nurses, specialist nurses, assistant nurses, and physiotherapists.

Main responsibilities:

• Assess the patient's need for rehabilitation efforts, such as training in activity or compensation for functional loss.
• Responsible for ADL (Activities of Daily Living) assessments, training, home adaptations, prescription of assistive devices, as well as performing and evaluating treatments.
• Guide care/home help staff on how to perform transfers.
• Documentation in the business system Combine.
• Other tasks may also occur.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist or who will graduate as an occupational therapist in the summer of 2026. Previous experience working in healthcare and social care is meritorious.

A category B driver's license is required, as a car is used in the position. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills.

As a person, you have a positive attitude and a genuine interest in people. To thrive here, we believe you enjoy a varied daily routine and are good at planning and structuring your work efficiently. You are self-motivated and take responsibility for your tasks, while also having good teamwork skills and appreciating working in a team.

Your Future Workplace

The healthcare function in Jönköping Municipality consists of 13 healthcare teams and a home team. Together, we work with planned and acute healthcare interventions in the home, as well as rehabilitation, habilitation, and palliative care, and with assessing and meeting needs for assistive devices in the home. Your workday starts and is based out of a team office located according to the team's geographical placement.

Good to know

The recruitment is for a summer substitute position during the vacation period from June to August 2026. For those who show initiative, there may also be an opportunity for continued employment. Your working hours are primarily scheduled during daytime, Monday to Friday.
