Quality Coordinator for Women's Health Services in Region Gävleborg

The Women's Health Services at Region Gävleborg cover both outpatient and inpatient specialist care in gynecology and obstetrics. We are located in Gävle and Hudiksvall. Our outpatient services include clinics for fertility, abortion, incontinence, gynecological cancer, dysplasia, specialist maternity care, and maternity ward consultations. The inpatient care includes the maternity ward (BB) and delivery services. We also perform surgical operations within the framework of both outpatient and inpatient care.

The services cater to the women of the county and span a large and comprehensive area with a strong focus on development. We collaborate closely with family health services and pediatric care, as well as other units providing specialist care.

About the Role

We are now looking for a Quality Coordinator for a position that involves working across the entire county. You will be a key person in developing the quality and safety of healthcare. The role requires analytical skills to identify risks, where your insights into patient safety and quality are of great importance. You will be part of the management group and support the business manager, deputy business manager, and unit managers in matters concerning quality, patient safety, and operational development. You will work closely with the medically responsible physicians in various investigations, analyses, and follow-ups. The role also includes some clinical work.

Your Responsibilities

As a Quality Coordinator with us, you will among other things:

  • Drive, coordinate, and develop patient safety work with an active role in the management group.
  • Support managers and employees in deviation management and patient board cases, compile deviations, and together with unit managers compile patient cases and report to the management group.
  • Lead or participate in incident, internal, and risk analyses, and together with the business manager ensure that results are translated into improvement measures.
  • Be responsible for all or part of the operation's document control in the document management system Platina, which involves creating, reviewing, and following up on documents, as well as supporting the operation in processes and implementation.
  • Structure and follow up on patient safety work in the system support Stratsys patient safety module, including the annual patient safety report.
  • Support operational development through analysis, education, and close collaboration with managers and section leaders.
  • Participate in the management group and in the medical management group as an expert in quality and patient safety.

Qualifications and Merits

In the role of Quality Coordinator, you play a central role in ensuring good healthcare quality and high patient safety. The work is characterized by good planning and organizational skills, where structure and clarity create prerequisites for effective improvement work and secure care. You should have the ability to support managers and employees, be stress-resistant in a complex environment, and have good collaboration skills to lead and drive change.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
  • A solid background and experience within women's health services.

Meritorious:

  • Education and experience within quality and patient safety.
  • Adequate further education and experience in operational development and/or strategic work, preferably within the public sector.
  • Experience in patient safety work and/or leadership.
