We are currently looking for 3 mother tongue teachers and study support assistants in Norwegian, Chinese, and Turkish for Skellefteå Municipality. The positions are hourly appointments with the scope determined by the number of students in each respective language. The positions are fixed-term with a duration of 6 months or longer.

Your role

As a mother tongue teacher and study support assistant, you teach and support students in primary and secondary school, both individually and in groups. Teaching takes place primarily on-site at various schools throughout the municipality and is scheduled during daytime, sometimes also in the evening. Remote teaching may occur in some cases.

You will become part of the Competence Centre for Multilingualism unit, where mother tongue instruction and study support are an important part of the school's mission. In this role, you help students develop their language skills, strengthen their subject knowledge, and create conditions for learning and participation. At the same time, you become an important part of the work for an equal school where all students are given the opportunity to succeed.

Your competence and experience

You have mother tongue competence in Norwegian, Chinese, or Turkish and command the language fluently in both speech and writing. You also have good knowledge of the culture in the areas where the language is spoken.

You express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing and have good knowledge of using digital tools in your work. Previous teaching experience is meritorious, as is a teaching license or other pedagogical education.

Since teaching takes place in different environments and often at several schools, you need to be able to plan and structure your work independently. The role involves many contact surfaces, which means you need to be able to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Collaboration is a natural part of the work, and you are happy to contribute with engagement, ideas, and experience in the work team.

For this position, you are required by law to present a current police certificate before any potential employment. This applies to the certificate "Work in school or preschool." You are responsible for ordering the correct certificate via polisen.se.
