Specialist/Senior Physician in Gynecology and Obstetrics – Gävle

Women's healthcare in Gävleborg is divided between two locations: Gävle and Hudiksvall. The delivery unit in Gävle performs approximately 1,500–2,000 deliveries per year and offers outpatient obstetric services including ultrasound. Gynecology is primarily an outpatient service, featuring abortion clinics, uro-gynecology, fertility treatments, general gynecology, and gynecological oncology. Surgical activities take place in central surgery, day surgery, and clinic-based surgery. The maternity/gynecology ward has 18 beds. There are 38 physicians working at women's healthcare in Gävle, including ten specialty trainees. We actively work to train our own specialists and maintain a steady flow of newly qualified specialists.

Job Responsibilities

As a Specialist/Senior Physician, you will have a varied and stimulating job. You will collaborate with colleagues, adjacent units, and other stakeholders to create a good care chain. On-call and standby duties are included in the position.

As a Specialist/Senior Physician with us, you will among other things:

• Assess, investigate, and treat patients within gynecology and obstetrics.
• Participate in the development and quality assurance of operations.
• Contribute your expertise through teaching, supervision, and teamwork.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have Specialist/Senior Physician competence in gynecology and obstetrics. You are responsible, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. You can handle varying tasks and have an interest in medical development work and patient safety issues. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.

In the role of Specialist/Senior Physician, you must have:

• Swedish medical license and specialist certificate in obstetrics and gynecology, which we ask you to attach to your application.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale.

For this position, it is meritorious if you have competence in intermediate on-call and back-up on-call duties.
