The acute ward cares for up to 16 patients aged 18 and above. Here, patients are treated for:

• Acute orthopedic injuries
• Orthopedic disease conditions
• Postoperative care needs
• Sometimes also cancer-related orthopedic conditions

Our operations are fast-paced, varied, and characterized by close collaboration with various professions.

The Team

Here, you work in an interdisciplinary team consisting of:

• Doctors
• Nurses
• Enrolled Nurses / Nursing Assistants
• Occupational Therapists
• Physiotherapists
• Pharmacists
• Near-care service staff

Together, we create safe and structured care and nursing for the patients.

Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you play a central role in the team and in patient flow. A typical morning might look like this:

• 06:45 – Short and clear handover report
  You get an overview of today's patients and their current status.
• 07:15 – Team coordination
  You gather the nursing assistants, review the patients, and distribute tasks. Here, you organize nursing measures, prioritize, and delegate.
• 09:00 – Pre-rounding check
  The entire team gathers to review the patients, with a focus on:
  • Patients who have deteriorated and need prioritization
  • Fasting patients before surgery
  • Risk of pressure ulcers or existing pressure ulcers
  • Input from physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and the charge nurse

In addition to this, standard nursing duties are included, such as medication management, documentation, nursing assessments, patient contact, and collaboration with relatives, municipalities, and primary care.

• 11:00 – Short debriefing after rounding
  The entire team gathers to review the patients, with a focus on:
  • A quick update to the whole team regarding which tasks need prioritization and in what order they should be performed.
  • Etc.

• Are a licensed nurse

• Want to develop within orthopedics and acute healthcare
