About the Position

At GöteborgsOpera's Costume, Mask, and Wig Department, approximately 50 specialists work in a creative, production-intensive environment where craftsmanship, tradition, and innovation meet. Do you also want to work creatively and with professional pride in the heart of the performing arts? GöteborgsOpera is looking for an engaged makeup artist and wig maker, a key role in the creation of characters for our productions.

Main Responsibilities

• Work on creating masks and wigs for GöteborgsOpera's productions based on the designer's sketches.
• Be responsible for production, including planning, production, and documentation within the framework of budget and hours.
• Contribute to the mask department's joint work and development in collaboration with your colleagues.

Requirements

• Education in mask and wig making and/or several years of relevant documented professional experience.
• Ability to manufacture and style wigs.
• Good knowledge of styles and eras.
• Good computer skills (e.g., MS Office).

Merits

• Ability to cut and color hair, create dental prosthetics, and manufacture loose parts and masks.
• Experience working in theater, opera, or other performing arts productions.
• Knowledge of 3D design is a plus.

Language Skills

Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
