Description
Join us on our journey to create better conditions for psychiatric care in Skaraborg!
We are now looking for a nurse for our Dependency Department, which is an acute care unit belonging to SkaS Adult Psychiatry. The department is an acute care unit with 16 beds intended for patients needing inpatient psychiatric care and for patients with substance abuse issues. Patients are treated either on a voluntary basis or under the Mental Health Care Act (LPT). In psychiatry, we look at the whole person, and the goal is for every patient to have a smooth journey through the healthcare system. We have a person-centered approach where care is planned and carried out in consultation with the patient, relatives, outpatient care, the municipality, and other partners.
The inpatient care in Adult Psychiatry is a modern workplace in completely new premises specially designed for psychiatry, providing security and well-being for both patients and staff.
As a nurse here, you will have the opportunity to get to know patients in a completely different way and experience situations that are both engaging and emotional. These are moments of joy, empathy, and care that, together with treatment, make a difference for our patients. A workplace where we make a difference together.
Responsibilities
At the Dependency Department, you as a nurse are primarily responsible for medication management, as well as the assessment, planning, and nursing care of individual patients in collaboration with your colleagues. We work closely together in teams with various professional disciplines, focusing on patient care.
We help you get started with an introduction, and you will receive guidance from engaged and competent colleagues. The clinic offers internal training sessions where all professions within inpatient care contribute to deeper knowledge within psychiatry.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, where experience of psychiatric care and specialist training in psychiatry is meritorious. As a nurse with us, it is important that you are engaged, structured, solution-focused, and have a good ability to see the big picture. You also need to have good communication and collaboration skills; an interest in developing and being developed, as well as a focus on the patient's needs.
Personal suitability is given great weight.
Other
For appointments within psychiatry, we require an extract from the suspicion and criminal record register. This request is handled by the employer.
If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. It includes introduction days, guidance and training days, as well as observation days. The purpose of the Clinical Foundation Year is to create good conditions for newly graduated nurses to strengthen their theoretical knowledge and practice skills, as well as to grow into their new profession.
In the event of recruiting nurses with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for a Swedish license/specialist certificate.
The position is currently organized with a schedule where work shifts are mainly scheduled for nights. You are employed throughout the day, and the scheduling of working hours may be adjusted.
We will have ongoing interviews during the advertising period, so do not hesitate to submit your application today.
