TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE STOCKHOLM REGION

In 2000, we delivered an industrial door to a research station in Antarctica. The winters are freezing, and sea winds of 120 km/h constantly shower the building with saltwater. An extreme environment for anything that can rust.

After 22 years of operation, we received a letter from the customer in polite English.

The floor trim had worn out. Was it possible to buy new ones? The door works fine otherwise?

And these doors are far from our oldest. We have examples from the 80s that are still in operation in industrial areas around Sweden, and we build every door with the thought that downtime is the enemy, not the price. For the cheapest door is the one that never stops.

Selling Torverk doors is about helping the customer find the right door solution based on needs and budget. It is a job that requires big ears, technical competence, and a whole scoop of empathy.

Your work at Torverk

As a sales representative, you are responsible for sales in the Stockholm region and live in the metropolitan area. You respond to incoming inquiries from architects, construction companies, and property owners. Then, you design solutions together with our technicians in Torsby, write quotations, and maintain the dialogue all the way to finished installation.

It is more about listening than selling. The customer often knows what they think they want, but not always what actually works best.

This is where you make a difference, by positively questioning the customer's intended solution by asking the right questions, going on-site, and finding a solution that lasts.

Right now, we are working on a project at Medborgarplatsen, where a burglary-resistant folding door with a pedestrian door needs to lock securely but also function as an escape route. The lock needs to release correctly during a rapid evacuation but not stay open when someone exits. This is the type of problem you solve together with the customer.

You will work in parallel with our current sales representative during an overlap period, meet our larger customers together with him, and travel to Torsby for product training.

It is a varied job where many things happen in parallel. Inquiries come in waves, and during peaks, you may need to work overtime to get the quotations out on time. Part of the job is also being proactive: Calling architecture firms, following up on old quotations, looking for new customers. This space is something we want to create more of, and you will become part of that work.

What qualities are we looking for?

The most important thing is that you are receptive. You must be able to listen to the customer, ask curious questions, and understand what they really need – not just what they happen to ask for. This requires that you can immerse yourself in drawings, functions, and practical solutions.

You are unpretentious and not afraid to roll up your sleeves. We are not looking for a Zlatan, but a team player who solves problems and helps where needed. You respond quickly to emails and calls, for that is how we win the customer's trust.

Experience from industrial doors is not a requirement. What is important is that you have the drive to learn the product and the industry in depth.

You should have worked with technical sales towards construction, industry, or the property sector previously.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English is required as we have customers and colleagues in several countries. A driver's license is a requirement.
