We are looking for a Ward Manager to contribute to the development of the Medical Clinic and to further develop the Gastroenterology Clinic. As a Ward Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team of engaged colleagues and staff working to improve the unit's quality and patient safety work.

The Gastroenterology Clinic is part of the Medical Clinic at Karlstad Central Hospital. The clinic currently employs seven nurses. Together, the entire team is responsible for patients in need of gastroenterological care. At the Gastroenterology Clinic, the mission is clear: to deliver high-quality care for adult patients with gastroenterological diseases. Our work is meaningful and enriching.

We believe in good collaboration both within and outside our own clinic. You will work together with the staff to ensure that daily operations run smoothly and to promote a sustainable work environment. We are proud of our collaboration with Ward 58, where the Medical Clinic's gastroenterological patients are treated when inpatient care is needed. We continuously work to further develop the collaboration between the ward and the clinic.

As the manager of the Gastroenterology Clinic, you will lead the operations in close cooperation with the clinic's staff and the rest of the clinic's management group. Your responsibilities

In your role as Ward Manager, you are responsible for the nurses at the clinic and work in close cooperation with other professional groups. The Gastroenterology Clinic is a large clinic that also includes day care. As Ward Manager, you direct and lead the daily operations. Together with the staff at the unit and the clinic, you are responsible for the development of care for your patient group. As we face a major transition towards good and close care and a more person-centered approach, collaboration with both primary care, municipalities, and interest associations is of utmost importance.

You have responsibility for staff, economy, and the work environment for your unit and are part of the Medical Clinic's management group. Follow-up of the work is done together with the Business Manager. As support in your work, you collaborate with your fellow Ward Managers, as well as financial controllers and HR consultants.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who have an academic education, preferably within health and social care. It is an advantage if you have experience of management and development assignments in this area. If you also have an education within health and social care, it is an extra plus.

You are driven and take initiative, and you are accustomed to working both independently and in teams. You work purposefully and persistently, continuing to drive the work forward even in the face of setbacks, and completing tasks and projects until results are achieved.

As a person, you have a good ability to listen to your employees, handle challenges in a professional and constructive manner, and provide feedback and support in daily management. You are a clear communicator who creates engagement and motivation. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
