Do you want to help shape the future home care services through trust-based and strategic leadership? We are currently looking for a Department Manager who wants to lead through other managers and create sustainable conditions for a high-quality operation with a strong focus on citizens.
Home care is a central part of our healthcare and social care operations, and we work to enable a safe and independent life in one's own home. The operation is actively involved in the transition towards future social services and close-to-home care, which demands flexibility and quality.
As the Department Manager for home care, you have overall responsibility for operations, quality, economy, and working environment. You lead several unit managers and work through them to create a well-functioning and development-oriented organization.
You are part of the administration's management group and actively contribute to strategic decisions and long-term development. The role includes ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with current legislation, goals, and guidelines, as well as driving development work related to future healthcare and social care.
You are responsible for the department's budget and financial results, as well as for monitoring the operation's goals, quality, and efficiency.
We are looking for someone who believes in and works based on trust-based leadership. You create conditions for your managers to take responsibility, grow in their roles, and drive the operation forward. Through clarity, dialogue, and trust, you build a culture characterized by participation, accountability, and development.
Qualifications
To succeed in the role of Department Manager, we see that you have:
- Relevant university education in fields such as health and medical care or social work.
- Several years of experience in managerial roles, preferably as a manager of managers.
- Experience working in the public sector, preferably within home care or elderly care.
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL).
- Experience with budget responsibility, operational management, and working environment issues.
To thrive in this role, we see that you as a person are a secure and strategic leader with good collaboration skills and a genuine commitment to healthcare and social care. You have a holistic perspective and the ability to switch between strategic issues and operational needs. You are development-oriented, curious, and dare to think new thoughts, while simultaneously creating structure and direction in the organization. You enjoy the role of leading through other managers and have the ability to build good relationships and strong trust within the organization.
Responsibilities
In the role of Department Manager, you will:
- Lead, coach, and develop unit managers within home care.
- Ensure good quality, legal certainty, and a sustainable working environment.
- Be responsible for budget, follow-up, and goal management.
- Drive change and development work.
- Contribute to a cohesive healthcare and social care chain through internal and external collaboration.
- Implement new ways of working related to, for example, close-to-home care and new legislation.
We offer
- A strategic and development-oriented assignment with significant impact.
- The opportunity to contribute to the future of home care.
