The Care Administration works according to the core values that all people we meet have the same value and are unique. Within the administration, there is IFO, LSS activities, social psychiatry, health care, home care, and special housing. Approximately 900 employees work here, available around the clock for our target groups.

Municipal Rehabilitation works with the entire municipality as its field of operation, including care and nursing homes and home healthcare. We have an introduction program and mentoring to ensure you get the best possible start.

A job where care, freedom, and collaboration meet

Are you studying to become an occupational therapist and are at the end of your education? At Avesta Municipality, you have the opportunity to complete your studies with a study salary and are subsequently offered a permanent position as an occupational therapist after completing and passing your education.

As an occupational therapist at Avesta Municipality, you play an important role in people's daily lives. You work independently with significant personal responsibility while being part of close collaboration with physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, and other professional groups. Here, there are good opportunities for support, supervision, and collegial exchange.

The work is varied and meaningful, focusing on strengthening the individual's ability to live as independent and active a life as possible. You meet patients in ordinary housing, special housing, and if necessary, also within LSS and social psychiatry.

Your tasks include, among other things:

• Investigate and assess activity and functional ability
• Plan and carry out rehabilitation measures
• Fit, prescribe, and follow up on assistive devices
• Perform activity assessments in the home environment
• Give advice and support to patients, relatives, and staff
• Write certificates, such as housing adaptation certificates
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers and professional groups
• Contribute to the development of the operations

As an occupational therapist, you also contribute to a safe and sustainable working environment for care and nursing staff through training and support in transfer techniques and assistive device management.

You are based at our premises on Skogsgläntan in Skogsbo but work throughout the municipality. With us, you make a difference every day.

Study service during education

During your studies, you are offered the opportunity to work as a rehabilitation assistant, for which an agreed hourly wage is paid in addition to the study salary.

The role involves varied and patient-oriented work where you get to apply your theoretical knowledge in practice and develop in your future professional role. The tasks include, among other things, training measures, assistive device management, support during rehabilitation measures, and practical work regarding assistive devices and transfers.

Conditions for the position

You receive a study salary of 21,000 SEK gross per month. The study salary is paid only during the ongoing study term and does not form the basis for vacation pay.

As a study employee, you are on leave of absence during the study period. After completing the education and submitting your degree certificate, you are offered employment as an occupational therapist at Avesta Municipality. Individual salary setting applies after completing the studies.

During longer study breaks, work is expected to be performed in the operations as a rehabilitation assistant. You are expected to start working as an occupational therapist immediately after completing and passing your education.

The employer has the right to reclaim the paid study salary in accordance with Section 26 of the General Provisions. To receive the full study support, you must be employed as an occupational therapist at Avesta Municipality for at least two years after completing your education. If the employment ends earlier, 1/24 of the benefits received is repaid for each month below 24 months. If the studies are not completed, the entire study salary must be repaid.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are studying to become an occupational therapist and are in or about to start term 5 or 6. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working in healthcare, social care, or rehabilitation. Experience working in municipal operations is also considered an advantage.

You have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, and a Category B driver's license is required.

As a person, you are responsible, secure, and have a professional approach. You can work independently while enjoying collaborating with others. You are flexible, receptive, and have a desire to help people and contribute to good solutions in everyday life.
