Responsibilities
Quantitative analysis of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) using Cryo-EM is challenging due to heterogeneous samples, lack of training data, and sample variability. In this project, we aim to develop AI/ML workflows for improved quantitative analysis of LNPs. Your responsibilities will include optimizing data collection parameters for automated analysis pipelines; developing, optimizing, and implementing AI/ML workflows; and validating analyses using physicochemical methods. The research will be conducted in close collaboration with experimental LNP PhD/postdoc projects in the Barriga Lab and with M. Carroni at the Cryo-EM facility at SciLifeLab. Other responsibilities may include teaching, supervision, and contributions to collaborative projects or grant applications.
The Barriga Lab is an interdisciplinary group combining biology, physics, and chemistry to enhance our understanding of biological processes, with a specific focus on structure-function relationships in lipid systems for drug delivery (primarily lipid nanoparticles). The group has extensive expertise in large-scale research infrastructure for studying lipid systems and linking them to biological analyses.
