Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for an equitable welfare system and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results.
Folktandvården Västerbotten (Public Dental Health Service Västerbotten) offers general and specialist dental care across all specialties. We participate in the clinical education of dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians, and we also run dental technology operations. We offer modern, well-equipped clinics and are at the forefront of research and development through our close collaboration with the Department of Odontology at Umeå University. We offer fitness allowances and opportunities for wellness activities through the region's staff club, which includes a wide range of activities and discounts at various fitness facilities in the county. As an employee of Region Västerbotten, you enjoy many benefits, such as parental allowance supplements, the option to exchange salary for pension, and extra vacation days when you turn 40 and 50.
In Västerbotten, we are now launching a new base unit, the Competence Centre for Public Dental Health Västerbotten, with the purpose of complementing the specialized dental care provided in Umeå. Two clinics are currently under construction and will be located in Skellefteå and Lycksele, respectively. By establishing these clinics, we will be able to offer specialized dental care closer to our patients, thereby providing more equitable care for our residents. This will also allow for efficient patient management, reducing the need for patients to travel. Furthermore, we offer an attractive workplace with opportunities for good supervision, education, and clear career paths. The clinic in Skellefteå has been launched and currently features Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, as well as a Health Odontology department.
