The Centre for Musculoskeletal Research and Clinical Research (Rörelseorganens centrum) in Umeå is responsible for Orthopedics in the northern healthcare region, which covers the four northernmost counties. The Centre is divided into the sections Arthroplastics and Tumors, FACTUM, Trauma, and Spine, all of which perform thousands of patient visits, treatments, and surgical procedures annually.

The Centre for Musculoskeletal Research and Clinical Research in Umeå is a University Healthcare Unit (USVE), where research and student supervision are a natural part of clinical daily life.

Within the Centre for Musculoskeletal Research and Clinical Research in Umeå, there are outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, a day surgery unit, an administrative unit, and an orthopedic technical center. Our care is characterized by a holistic approach where many different professional categories are engaged in the patient's care process and collaborate for the best results, with the vision of keeping Norrland on its feet and in motion.

The Orthopedic Ward has close cooperation with Umeå University through our newly opened clinical education department. Training students and employees is close to our hearts, and through the new department, we achieve a unique blend of highly specialized care and clinical education. We are now looking for a Nursing Assistant for our ward, welcome!

Job Description

As a Nursing Assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel safe.

As a Nursing Assistant, you work closely with the patient and support them in functions that need assistance, always aiming to preserve their autonomy. We work in fast care chains, and mobilization and return to previous life are pursued quickly after surgery. As a Nursing Assistant, you also perform standard nursing assistant duties for an acute care ward, such as mobilization, daily care, monitoring vital signs, wound care, sample collection, etc.

At our facility, Nursing Assistants play a vital and clear role in the care team, and your work contributes to patient-safe care of good quality. To coordinate daily care, we have introduced a Care Leader in each team. This person follows up on tasks and participates in ward rounds. Working hours include days, evenings, weekends, and nights according to operational needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a completed Nursing Assistant education. Since "Nursing Assistant" is a protected title, you must provide a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), or alternatively, an employment certificate that places you under the National Board of Health and Welfare's transitional provisions, allowing you to use the title until June 30, 2033.

You are responsible and thrive in an environment with varied tasks and changing intensity.

You have good communication skills in speech and writing. You enjoy working both independently and in teams, where cooperation, initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail are qualities we value. You are good at prioritizing what is most important in the moment and have the ability to maintain focus on the task.
