ABOUT THE POSITION

Do you want to be a vital part of someone else's daily life and contribute to creating a meaningful existence? At Kura Omsorg, we are currently seeking an engaged personal assistant on a part-time basis for our client in Kungsör. The position involves approximately 20–30 hours per month, working 2–3 days a week. The client attends school on weekdays, and your shifts begin when he returns home, usually after 2 PM. Weekend shifts may also occur.

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a 17-year-old active young man with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and a mild intellectual disability. To facilitate his daily life, he uses assistive devices such as a shower chair, electric wheelchair, and lifting equipment.

As a personal assistant to our client, you will, among other things:

• Help with transfers and mobility

• Assist with personal hygiene, dressing/undressing, and meals

Furthermore, he is a very active young man who loves shopping and taking walks. He also has a great interest in motors. As a personal assistant, you will become an important part of his daily life, supporting him with practical needs and encouraging his participation in activities he enjoys.

ARE YOU THE ONE WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone who is empathetic, responsible, and confident in taking initiative. Since our client is an active young man with many interests, it is important that you are flexible and can adapt to different situations. You should be attentive and mindful of his needs, while also being solution-oriented and able to help with practical tasks such as transfers and personal hygiene. It is also important that you are comfortable being in environments with chlorine, as such environments may be encountered.

In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your personal suitability and how well you fit the client's needs. Our client prefers male applicants.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to tolerate chlorine and be a competent swimmer

• Category B driver's license

Employment level: 20-30 hours per month, approx. 2-3 days a week.

Start date: As agreed, where we would appreciate if you could start the introduction immediately.

Salary: We apply individual salary setting. Other benefits in accordance with collective agreements.

Due to the fact that the position may involve solo work, night work, and tasks that, according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations (AFS 2012:3), cannot be performed by minors, you must be 18 years old to work as a personal assistant.

If you are to work with children and young people under 18, you are required to present an extract from the criminal record register. From March 1, 2026, new regulations apply meaning that the register check will include both extracts from the criminal record register and the suspicion register. The extract is ordered via the Swedish Police Authority's e-service. Note that processing times may vary, so it is advisable to order well in advance.
