Nurse for Oncology Clinic, Ryhov County Hospital

The Role of the Nurse

As a nurse in the oncology department, you, together with a nursing assistant, have nursing responsibility for a patient group of 5-6 patients, both on the oncology ward and on the palliative procedure ward. You work in a team with doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants and follow a person-centered approach. Your daily work includes, among other things, assessment, medication management, and support for patients and relatives. You participate in continuous operational development and contribute with improvement proposals.

We offer you a permanent full-time position located at the oncology clinic's care unit. Working hours are scheduled for day/evening and night shifts. As a nurse, you work two out of five weekends and create your own schedule.
Start date is by agreement.

The Oncology Clinic is a county-wide clinic with approximately 170 employees and is responsible for non-surgical treatment of cancer diseases. The clinic offers outpatient services, inpatient care, day treatment unit, oncogenetic clinic, clinical trial unit, as well as radiotherapy with integrated hospital physics.

Your Profile

To be eligible for the position, you must be a licensed nurse, and we would appreciate if you have a few years of experience in healthcare. It is a bonus if you have previously worked in cancer care and palliative care, as well as having a specialist education in oncology. You must master Swedish in speech and writing and have good IT skills.

To thrive in the role, you are a person who works well in a team, is engaged in the personal meeting with the patient, and organizes your work in a structured and meticulous manner. You have the desire and ability to drive change and improvement, and you see the value in a person-centered approach. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
