The Geriatric Centre is a specialist clinic for patients requiring both acute and planned geriatric care and rehabilitation. Interprofessional teams conduct comprehensive assessments of elderly patients' medical, physical, mental, and social functioning during illness. Diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation are provided in both inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on the patient's individual needs.

Ward 4 provides acute and subacute orthogeriatric care and rehabilitation. We are now looking for new colleagues for a permanent position. Is this the role for you?

About the Role

All our new colleagues undergo our induction program together with experienced colleagues over 4 weeks, ensuring you gain a good overview, understanding, and basic security in your role. The work primarily involves shifts during days, evenings, and weekends, and potentially nights if needed and agreed upon, according to a shift schedule (AB-schema).

Responsibilities

As an assistant nurse at Geriatric Ward 4, you will have a developing, educational, and varied job in a team with a positive work atmosphere. Here, assistant nurses play a vital and clear role in the care team, and your work contributes to patient-safe care of high quality. To grow in your professional role and provide the best care, we believe it is important to have job satisfaction and the opportunity for continuous development.

In the role of an assistant nurse, care work with a rehabilitative approach is fundamental, and you are a key part of the team's work in supporting patients to become more independent and involved in their daily lives. The work is carried out in close collaboration with nurses, but the team also includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and doctors, as well as social workers and dietitians as needed.

Qualifications

You have an assistant nurse education and a certified course in emergency care. You enjoy working with the elderly, prioritize the patient, have a good interpersonal approach, and adapt your care to the patient's different needs throughout the care process. You are interested in rehabilitation and in stimulating the patient to activity and participation in their daily life.

You take initiative, are easy to work with, and are curious about new challenges. You feel responsible and thrive in an environment with varied tasks and varying intensity. You work together with nurses, doctors, and paramedical staff, but also have a significant part of the workday where you work independently. In this context, collaboration, initiative, flexibility, and precision are qualities we value. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

As of July 1, 2023, "assistant nurse" is a protected professional title. This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to use the title assistant nurse within care and social services. You apply for the certificate of protected professional title for assistant nurses from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you have already received this certificate, we request that you attach it to your application.
