In the role of Unit Manager at the Board Support Unit, you will have managerial responsibility for approximately 25 employees, including board secretaries, municipal secretaries, and generalist investigators. You will also be responsible for the election office, which is led by an election coordinator. Together with your team, you are responsible for coordinating and ensuring the quality of Örebro Municipality's board processes. The support provided to all boards is proactive, characterized by high quality and efficiency. The unit supports the organization with its expertise and offers training and expert support within the framework of its mandate.

Close collaboration with your fellow managers within the department, as well as across the entire administration, is required to maintain and develop common routines and working methods. The goal is to deliver according to the mandates and goals of the unit, the department, and the entire administration.

Example of tasks:

  • Responsibility for personnel, economy, and operations.
  • Drive, develop, and follow up on operations against set goals.
  • Through close leadership, you lead and support employees and ensure the need for competence development.
  • Responsible for continuous environmental scanning in the area.
  • Collaborate with trade union organizations and other internal and external parties.

About the workplace

The unit is located within the Municipal Executive Office, in the Office and Information Administration Department. The department consists of a total of approximately 85 employees and is divided into five units: Board Support, Law, Guardianship Office, Information Management and City Archives Unit, and Office Services.

The Board Support Unit is responsible for coordinating and developing board processes within Örebro Municipality. We work to ensure a democratic decision-making process characterized by openness, participation, and municipality-wide working methods.

The operations work in activity-based offices at Åbylunden. We have flexible agreements and offer the possibility of remote work.

Qualifications

As a person, you are relationship-building and have good collaboration skills. You are an engaged and clear leader who cares about developing operations and coaching your employees.

Requirements:

  • University degree with a focus on public administration, political science, law, or other experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Experience in leadership.
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization.
  • Experience driving change and development work with successful results.

Meritorious:

  • Knowledge of board processes.
  • Management experience with responsibility for personnel, economy, and operations.

Scope and start date

Employment type: Permanent

Full-time: 100%

Start date: October 1st, or by agreement
