At the Diagnostic Centre, we work in teams (doctor-nurse-aide) where you will be a valued colleague. The Diagnostic Centre is tasked with investigating patients with serious non-specific symptoms that may be related to cancer (AOS) and patients with metastases of unknown primary tumor (CUP). We work according to standardized care pathways (SVF) and must offer patients a new visit within 4 calendar days. The majority of patients should be fully investigated within 22 calendar days, and to achieve this, patient-centered teamwork is a prerequisite. Half of the Diagnostic Centre's patients receive a malignant diagnosis and are referred to an organ-specific cancer pathway. Many other diseases are also diagnosed, such as various rheumatological diseases and infections. We hold multidisciplinary conferences with pathologists, radiologists, and rheumatologists.

Job Description

As a nurse at the Diagnostic Centre, you are responsible for your own patients and work together with the doctors and aides to ensure that patient investigations are as fast and good as possible. The work is independent, and you will support the patient during the investigation period. This may involve pain and nutrition issues as well as anxiety. You will have extensive contact with patients and relatives as well as other healthcare providers such as radiology, the pathologist, and other specialists. The work is varied as the Diagnostic Centre is a combined outpatient clinic and day care unit, with 2 care beds for monitoring patients who need to undergo various punctures. New visits are conducted together with doctors. Otherwise, it involves standard nursing tasks such as blood sampling, medication administration, telephone advice, and bookings. All patients are offered participation in research studies.

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced nurse who has worked for at least 5 years. Experience in outpatient work and cancer care is meritorious but not a requirement.

You are accustomed to working in teams and find it easy to collaborate with different professional groups. The work places high demands on your ability to act independently. You are motivated by driving and developing the operations as well as developing the nurse's role in the team. To thrive, you need to be secure in your role as a nurse and confident in your assessments and prioritizations.

Other

We share premises with the hematology outpatient clinic and have close cooperation. Part of your working hours may be allocated to the hematology outpatient clinic. Our working hours are full-time 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, and we are closed on public holidays.
