Do you want to work on a surgical emergency care ward and be part of the continued development of the emergency and trauma section at Östersund Hospital?

On Surgical Ward 3 (KAVA), we work based on a concept where teamwork, high physician presence, patient participation, and continuous training efforts are important components. We also utilize needs-based bedside rounds and daily management.

Östersund Hospital is the only hospital in Region Jämtland Härjedalen and receives emergency and trauma patients from the entire region. We are responsible for both the residents and a very large, and increasing, number of tourists both in summer and winter. This places high demands on our competence and resources. Region Jämtland Härjedalen is one of the county's largest employers with approximately 4,200 employees.

Job Responsibilities

Patients arrive at the acute surgical ward via the emergency department to begin investigation and treatment. The focus is on diagnostics, treatment, monitoring, and good nursing care. We work in multidisciplinary teams where a care team consists of a nurse, a nursing assistant, and a physician, collaborating with several other functions such as care planning nurses, pharmacists, medical secretaries, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

A charge nurse is on-site to lead and support during the day, and a unit coordinator is responsible for telephone duties, arranging transport, and performing administrative tasks. The length of stay varies from 1 day to longer periods depending on the patient's condition and need for acute hospital care.

We are now looking for you who are interested in surgical care and enjoy structured acute handling with the goal of providing our patients with the best possible care. You are welcome to join a work group that enjoys their work and each other!

We offer a 4-week introduction period, which includes observation (auscultation) at other units within the surgical area, so that you gain insight and get to know the entire area's operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant (undersköterska) with an interest in trauma and surgical care. You have a positive attitude, are good at communicating, and have strong teamwork skills. You are engaged and interested in both personal development and developing our operations.
