The Faculty of Medicine is one of the largest faculties at Umeå University and attracts many students with a comprehensive range of education in the fields of medicine, dentistry, health, and care. Description
The Department of Nursing, which has around a hundred employees, offers education for nurses and radiographers, specialist training for nurses, midwifery, master's, and doctoral programs, as well as research in three main subjects: nursing, radiography, and sexual and reproductive health.
We are currently seeking a temporary University Lecturer on a full-time basis (100%) for two years in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
Responsibilities
The position includes practical and theoretical teaching, student supervision, and the implementation and assessment of examinations within undergraduate and advanced level education. The teaching is primarily conducted within the midwifery program but may also take place within the department's other programs and courses. Additionally, the role involves participating in the development of new courses and administrative tasks. Teaching will partly be conducted using distance pedagogy.
Qualifications
To be eligible for appointment as a lecturer in sexual and reproductive health, one must be a licensed midwife who has completed a master's degree in sexual and reproductive health or possess equivalent competence. Experience in maternal healthcare and contraceptive counseling is meritorious.
Knowledge and experience in skills training and practical teaching are meritorious.
To be eligible for the position, the applicant should have documented ability to teach in Swedish and English.

You are outgoing and have good ability to collaborate with students, colleagues, and groups both within and outside the university. Evaluation Criteria for the Position
The evaluation criteria for the appointment of teachers at the university shall be the degree of such skill that is a requirement for eligibility for the position, i.e., for this position: pedagogical skill, administrative skill, and clinical skill. The assessment of pedagogical skill and clinical skill shall receive special attention in this appointment. In addition, the degree of skill to contribute to program and course development applies.
A general evaluation criterion for teachers at Umeå University is both good collaboration skills, as well as the competence and suitability otherwise needed to perform the duties well.
In assessing pedagogical skill, account will be taken of documented experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching, as well as supervision and examination in sexual and reproductive health or equivalent. Administrative skill can be demonstrated through the ability to lead and develop operations and personnel, as well as through the ability to collaborate. Clinical skill is demonstrated through current clinical experience and documented good clinical competence.
Other Information
The workplace is Umeå, but work at other locations may occur. The position is a two-year temporary contract with a start date as agreed. We view positively the maintenance of clinical professional activity during the employment period, and a clinical connection of 20% may be possible within the framework of the employment.
