Healthcare Pharmacy VGR Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) is part of the regional Healthcare Pharmacy VGR and plays a vital role in the hospital's comprehensive pharmaceutical work. Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and dispensing assistants work here on drug supply, medication management, assortment work, clinical pharmacy, information, and education in close collaboration with healthcare operations.

The unit is also responsible for the manufacturing of extemporaneous preparations and cytostatics for the healthcare units.

Skaraborg Hospital includes the hospitals in Skövde, Lidköping, Falköping, and Mariestad. Within VGR, manufacturing/preparation has been conducted in-house for several years.

We are looking for a pharmacist or dispensing assistant with preparation competence who wishes to contribute their knowledge in an important and meaningful role.

Responsibilities

As a preparation pharmacist, you will work with the extemporaneous manufacturing of cytostatics and other sterile medications. You will receive specialized local training for the work we perform. Subsequently, you will, among other things, manufacture life-saving and individually tailored medications for patients with special needs. The role also involves close collaboration with healthcare staff and supporting healthcare units within SkaS with information and investigation in matters primarily concerning medication preparation.

In addition to preparing medications already on the market, we also participate in clinical trials and assist pharmaceutical companies in the development of new preparation medications.

Extemporaneous manufacturing at SkaS is part of Healthcare Pharmacy VGR, which in the long term may offer opportunities to contribute to regional processes and other development-oriented contexts.

Qualifications

You are a licensed pharmacist or licensed dispensing assistant with the competence to manufacture cytostatics and extemporaneous preparations. For licensed pharmacists, preparation authorization is included in the basic education.

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, responsible, and has a clear patient focus. You thrive in an operation with short lead times and are service-oriented, flexible, and quality-conscious. The work also requires good IT skills.
