Are you ready for a bigger challenge?
As an IT Technician at the Swedish Police Authority, you become part of Sweden's largest and most important workplace. With approximately 40,700 colleagues nationwide, we share a common goal: to increase safety and reduce crime. But behind every patrol car and every investigation lies functioning technology that makes the job possible.
We are now looking for you who want to be stationed in either Gävle or Västerås and help secure the technical backbone of daily police work. Here you get more than just a job – you get a mission where your contribution directly impacts the ability to help citizens and solve crimes.
The IT Department
The primary task of the IT Department is to provide IT services to the entire Swedish Police Authority. The IT Department is a crucial part of crime prevention and law enforcement work, and IT is one of the most important tools for streamlining the police force and improving the quality of police work. The IT Department develops and modernizes the police's IT systems, and the authority is investing heavily in strengthening the department with new specialist competence and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in police operations.
IT – Delivery and Support
Delivery and Support delivers, maintains, and coordinates the technology used by the authority's employees in their work. This team delivers and provides support for all technology used in core operations, such as computers, telephony, network equipment, and radio communication systems.
Job Description
As an IT Technician with us, you will play a key role in keeping critical infrastructure running. This is not just about computers and networks – your contribution ensures that the police have functioning communication when it is needed most. Are you ready for a job where your technical skills make a real difference?
You will work hands-on with everything from installing advanced radio systems (Rakel) and video conferencing equipment to troubleshooting computers and printers directly at the user's location. The work is characterized by mobility and variety. You will travel to different assignments, adapt quickly to new environments, and solve technical challenges on-site. For those who enjoy being active, like tinkering, and want to see the results of their work immediately, this is a perfect role.
You will primarily work with providing second-line support on-site to our end-users, as well as working with technology installations for various assignments. The position involves traveling by car, which requires that you enjoy working in the field and can quickly adapt to different situations and environments. The work is physical and varied – perfect for you if you prefer being on the move rather than sitting at a desk all day. You should have good physical condition and enjoy working in various environments, from cramped spaces to outdoor installations.
On-call duties and staffing of the IT helpdesk will also be part of the role.
Working as an IT Technician in Delivery and Support means being part of a strong team where collaboration and community are in focus. Our core values are characterized by agile principles and a holistic approach, where we focus on solutions rather than problems. We value good service orientation and employee drive, where cooperation and mutual support are central. You will work together with engaged and helpful colleagues. With us, you not only have the opportunity to grow professionally through further education and career opportunities, but also to contribute to something bigger every day. Your contribution makes a difference!
