The Role of Nursing Assistant/Care Assistant

Urology is a broad field ranging from infections to various cancer diagnoses. In the role of nursing assistant/care assistant, you will work with patients who come to us through our emergency flow and those coming for planned surgeries, involving both pre- and post-operative work.

You will provide nursing care and healthcare interventions for our patients with various urological conditions and care needs. We want the patient to be involved in their care, which means that communication is a very important part of your work. We work in teams with different professions, and together with other staff, you work towards good collaboration within the clinic and with other partners.

For the summer of 2026, we are looking for temporary nursing assistants/care assistants who can work during weeks 30-34. Introduction takes place outside of these weeks. The position is a fixed-term full-time employment with varying shifts between days, evenings, and weekends. During the summer, you will work every other weekend.

Your Future Workplace

On the inpatient ward of the urology clinic at Ryhov County Hospital, there are 16 beds on weekdays and 13 beds on weekends, with an average length of stay of less than three days. Here, you will have the opportunity to dive into our specialty and get an insight into urology and urological nursing, a field within surgery that is developing rapidly.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant. Another option is that you are studying to become a nurse or doctor, and in that case, we prefer that you have completed term three, although individual assessment may occur earlier.

Our Recruitment Process

Since selection, interviews, and appointments are made on an ongoing basis, we ask you to submit your application as soon as possible, but no later than June 7, 2026.

Be careful to include any internship and work experience in your application. It is important that you also attach your diploma. If you have not yet finished your studies, attach a LADOK extract or another certificate showing completed courses. If you already have a verbal agreement regarding a summer vacation substitute position with a manager in our operations, you should state that person's name and clinic in your application.

Since "nursing assistant" has been a protected professional title since July 1, 2023, you will be asked to state in your application if you have proof of the protected professional title. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant but do not have proof of the protected title, we ask you to attach a certificate of your permanent employment in your application to continue using the title nursing assistant.
