We are now looking for a vocational teacher in healthcare subjects who wants to make a real difference. At Baldergymnasiet, you get the chance to combine your industry experience with pedagogy and help shape the future workforce within healthcare and social care.

The position is a fixed-term assignment during the academic year 2026/2027, running from August 10, 2026, to June 17, 2027.

Your Role

As a vocational teacher, you teach students at the upper secondary level and make both theory and practice understandable, relevant, and meaningful. Together with your colleagues, you plan, implement, and follow up on teaching, supporting students in their learning both in the classroom and during practical sessions. An important part of the role is to be responsible for work-based learning. You collaborate with supervisors in the workplaces, follow up on students, and ensure that their practical training is safe, educational, and well-aligned with the educational goals.

The role also includes mentoring, where you follow a group of students, build secure relationships, and actively work on their motivation, well-being, and development. As a mentor, you are the connecting link between the student, home, and school, contributing to creating a holistic environment where every student gets the right conditions to succeed.

In your daily work, you meet students with different needs and prerequisites, and you build relationships that create security and motivation. You become a stable adult in the room who both leads, inspires, and guides.

Your Competence and Experience

You have education within healthcare and social care or health and medical services, or a pedagogical education that qualifies you for the assignment. You also have work experience from healthcare and social care or health and medical services, which gives you a secure foundation when translating professional knowledge into teaching. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and can adapt your language to the target group and situation. A category B driver's license is also required for the role.

It is meritorious if you have previously worked as a teacher and have experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching. If you have a pedagogical degree and teacher certification, it is an advantage, but if lacking at the time of employment, there is an opportunity to begin studies during employment. Experience in supervisory roles within healthcare and social care or health and medical services is also valuable.

As a person, you are structured and work methodically, while remaining stable even when the pace increases or situations change. You build good relationships with both students and colleagues and contribute to an open and collaborative work team. In these relationships and in your ability to create clarity and security, your personal qualities are particularly important.

If you have a digital mailbox, you can receive the certificate digitally, which is often faster. It is valid for six months and needs to be renewed thereafter.
