Dental Nurse for Maxillofacial Surgery, Region Västerbotten

At the Neuro Head and Neck Centre (NHHC), approximately 650 people currently work with various aspects of the investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries affecting the nervous system, brain, ears, nose, throat, and maxillofacial surgery. The centre is a county clinic providing highly specialized care for patients from the entire northern healthcare area, as well as conducting research, education, and development.

Maxillofacial surgery regularly collaborates with other medical specialties in connection with surgery for head and neck tumors, cleft lip, jaw, and palate, as well as complex facial fractures/neurocranial injuries. We perform all types of surgical procedures and investigations belonging to the maxillofacial care panorama. For inpatient care, we have care units at the Ear, Nose, Throat, and Maxillofacial Surgery department where we have independent care responsibility. Maxillofacial surgery also has a very close collaboration with other dental specialties located in close proximity to the clinic. Our referrers are found both within general dentistry and private dentistry.

We hold regular therapy discussions and exchanges with other maxillofacial clinics within the northern region. In collaboration with the Department of Odontology at the Faculty of Medicine, we conduct basic education for dental students as well as further education for dental nurses in the subject. Clinical supervision is included as a mandatory part of clinical service for all staff. Research within the maxillofacial area is also conducted at the department.

The development and quality work carried out mainly concerns digital treatment planning in implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, and reconstructive surgery. Specialists in maxillofacial surgery, ST-dentists, as well as general dentists, operating dental nurses, dental nurses, nurses, dental assistants, and medical secretaries work here. We staff the maxillofacial surgery on-call service 24/7, all days of the week throughout the year.

Job Responsibilities

As a dental nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make colleagues and patients feel secure.

At our clinic, you work daytime, Monday to Friday, at our reception and on our outpatient surgical department with standard dental nurse tasks within maxillofacial operations. The position also includes administrative duties. Work in the sterilization department and reception may also occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have dental nurse education and a few years of experience in the profession. Further education in operating room care for dental nurses is meritorious.

As a person, we see that you have good collaboration skills and are flexible in thought and action. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
