Do you want to contribute to open science by working closely with research through research data and scientific publishing?

 

Chalmers Library is looking for you who want to work with scientific communication from a holistic perspective – from data management to publishing and visibility of research results.

Information about the department

Chalmers Library is part of the Department of Science Communication and Learning and consists of two divisions: The Division of Information Resources and Scientific Publishing and the Division of Learning and Learning Environments. The position is located at the Division of Information Resources and Scientific Publishing, which works with researcher support, bibliometrics, and media. The division consists of about twenty employees – librarians, bibliometricians, and a specialist in information and data processing. We are in close contact with researchers and other library users and are an active party in the development of open science at the university.

The division has a close collaboration with Chalmers e-commons, which is the university's e-infrastructure for research data, focusing on the management, accessibility, and reuse of research data, and is developed in close cooperation with research at Chalmers.

Together, the Division of Information Resources and Scientific Publishing and Chalmers e-commons carry out a significant part of Chalmers' work with open science and are currently in a development phase where increased collaboration and integrated working methods are in focus.

Description of the position

The position is located at Chalmers Library and takes place in close collaboration with Chalmers e-commons, which gives you a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of research data management, publishing, and researcher support, in a collaborative and development-oriented environment.

You work together with colleagues from different competence areas and contribute to coordinated and professional support for Chalmers researchers as well as to the university's development towards open science.

The work is both operational and development-oriented and includes among other things:

  • qualified support to researchers in matters concerning publishing and research data
  • guidance in data management, accessibility, and reuse of research data
  • information and educational initiatives directed at researchers and other stakeholders
  • work with structure, metadata, and quality assurance of research and publication data according to FAIR principles
  • development and coordination of common working methods, routines, and processes
  • collaboration with colleagues within different operations

Employment type

Permanent full-time position.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a strong interest in open science and want to work closely with researchers in matters concerning research data and scientific publishing. You thrive in a role where you get to combine advisory work, development work, and collaboration, and have the ability to see the whole picture in research support. You have experience in one or more of these areas and a desire to develop further within open science.

We see that you have:

  • Relevant academic degree at advanced level or doctoral education
  • Good understanding of research environments and/or the role of research libraries in research support
  • Documented knowledge of and experience in working within open science
  • Very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working with research data, for example data management plans
  • Experience with publication databases or research information systems
  • Experience from university libraries or other research-supporting activities
  • Understanding of differences in publishing traditions and data management between different subject areas

You don't need to know everything from the start – we value your willingness to learn and develop within the field.
