Position/Job Title: Temporary Library Staff (Hourly)

Location: Main Library in Henå and branch libraries

The libraries in Orust Municipality consist of Henå Library, the municipality's largest library located in the cultural center Kajutan, as well as the integrated public and school libraries in Svanesund, Ellös, and Varekil. Culture and Library are part of the Community Development sector. In our library operations, we focus on promoting reading, providing excellent service, and being an open and inclusive resource for all residents of the municipality.

Your responsibilities

As a library substitute, you will:

• Staff the library's information desk and provide service to visitors.
• Handle library media and assist visitors with book recommendations.
• Handle IT issues, such as helping with printing and similar tasks, and support users with basic IT questions.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in Library and Information Science or other post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in service work with direct customer/visitor contact.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Basic IT skills and at least 6 months of experience working in digital systems.

You need to be outgoing, easy to collaborate with, able to build relationships, and have a sense of service. Personal suitability is highly valued.

It is an advantage if you have:

• At least 6 months of experience working in a public library.
• Experience with the library system Book-it.
• Experience with media management.
