As a Security Operations Engineer at Nobina, you will play a key role in securing our digital assets and contributing to the safe and reliable operation of public transport infrastructure. About the role

In the role of Security Operations Engineer, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions that protect Nobina's systems and data. You will work with continuous monitoring, threat and vulnerability analysis, and be the one who acts quickly when incidents occur. The role also involves close collaboration with IT, development, and the business operations to ensure that security is an integrated part of all our processes.

You report to the Head of Operations and Infrastructure and work at our headquarters in Solna, where you have access to modern facilities including a gym, pool, and restaurant.

Examples of responsibilities

• Design, implementation, and maintenance of security infrastructure (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems)
• Incident management: develop plans, investigate intrusions, analyze causes, and implement actions
• Security monitoring: continuous analysis of logs and alerts to detect threats in real-time
• Vulnerability management: regular analysis, prioritization, and collaboration on remediation actions
• Policies and compliance: develop and maintain security procedures in line with regulations and best practices
• Security training: raise awareness among employees and strengthen security culture
• Cross-functional collaboration: integrate security into all parts of IT and business operations

Your profile

We are looking for you who are an experienced security specialist with broad technical competence and a strong ability to perform under pressure. You thrive in complex environments and are accustomed to balancing technical requirements with business value. The role requires both strategic thinking and practical work, as well as the ability to communicate security risks in a clear and pedagogical manner.

We would like you to have

• At least 5 years of experience in IT security or system administration, particularly regarding networks, infrastructure, and system protection
• Very good understanding of security technologies and tools (e.g., SIEM, antivirus, firewalls)
• Strong analytical skills and experience in incident and vulnerability management
• Ability to prioritize and make quick decisions, especially during ongoing incidents
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical issues into business value
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Additional qualifications

• Relevant university education in IT or equivalent work experience
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or similar
• Experience in security training and building awareness within organizations
