About us Whether our people work in an office, factory, warehouse, customer center, or dealership, at Volvo Group Real Estate (VGRE) we create work environments where people thrive every day. We are a global team acting as true business partners to all our stakeholders, supporting Volvo Group in 60 different countries and more than 600 sites. We believe we can always learn and improve, and we know this is best done together.

This is us, your new colleagues

The Property Construction & Operational Excellence (PCOE) function in VGRE consists of a highly engaged group of experts in real estate-related areas such as workplace experience, sustainability, facility management, technical installations, fire security, construction project management, and more. The VGRE PCOE function has a global responsibility to identify and realize synergies for the Volvo Group's properties. We work in close partnership with property and workplace managers all over the world, as well as with other stakeholders in Volvo Group. With an open mind for innovation, we keep up with the latest developments in Volvo and in our field. We will now accelerate team development within PCOE, focusing on Workplace and Service Concepts.

Your main focus

Your main focus areas and responsibilities in this role are to lead and develop a team of experts within Workplace and Service Concepts and to contribute your expertise in this field. Together with the team, you will drive the strategy and development of how we want the Workplace experience to be at Volvo Group around the world.

You will set the direction, translate business ambition into a workplace strategy, and align leaders around a shared understanding of what the workplace is there to achieve. This requires stakeholder engagement at a senior level, identifying the cultural and operational needs of the business, setting priorities, shaping project briefs, building trust across functions, and ensuring workplace decisions are tied to real business outcomes rather than preference or noise. You will communicate the “why” behind major decisions and ensure the function is seen as a strategic partner rather than a reactive service.

You will lead a creative team and ensure that the workplace strategy and concept reflect the company’s culture, brand, operational reality, and future direction. Link strategy to brand identity, retention, employee engagement, and change adoption. Raise the status of the function, grow trust and buy-in.

The work is conducted in very close cooperation with Group Real Estate operational divisions, Group Corporate functions, and colleagues within Volvo Group’s local organizations, purchasing, and suppliers/partners. You will be a key person in picking up good examples, continuously improving them, and implementing them in other contexts around the world.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development of the global Volvo Group Workplace concept, considering office optimization and utilization, and the Facility Management service concept.
  • Support colleagues and the operation as an expert within the Workplace competence field, explain the Workplace concept, and be able to guide, find solutions, and set the direction in a project.
  • Prepare material, lead, and/or participate in meetings with higher or top management levels to set direction within the Workplace field.
  • Secure cross-functional solution development and knowledge transfer within the organization globally.
  • Continuous benchmarking on global workplace experience trends and developments.
  • Support new ways of working with service delivery.

You are a member of the Property Construction & Operational Excellence Management Team and will report to the Head of Property Construction & Operational Excellence, Volvo Group Real Estate.

Who are you?

You have a global mindset and broad experience in office planning and dimensioning, interior design, strategy, and concept development in this area of expertise. You know supplier market mechanisms, environmental aspects, and relevant regulations.

Since we work in a global environment, it is important to be comfortable communicating in English, but also Swedish, both in writing and orally. You are used to leading people within global forums and enjoy building business relationships. You are well-structured, have an analytical approach, and a strategic perspective in your daily work.

Knowledge/experience:

  • Relevant university background providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Documented skills in leadership.
  • Extensive experience working with Workplace Experience and Facility Management concepts, both hard and soft services.
  • Ability to demonstrate successful international business experience within a global network.
  • Good understanding of the real estate industry and business analysis.
