About the position

Maternity care is undergoing significant changes to provide pregnant women with good and secure care. At BB Karolinska, we have been transitioning towards more modern care for a few years now, and we now want more people to join us in this transformation. Our goal is "One birthing woman, one midwife," and to achieve this, we need more secure, engaged, and driven midwives.

At BB Huddinge, we have approximately 3,400 births per year, and the operations are distributed across three new, modern wards. Here, the birthing woman can, for example, receive pain relief with nitrous oxide in her own bathroom with a bathtub or birth pool. We also offer water births. At our facility, the birthing woman and her family are at the center, and we strive for security and involvement throughout the entire care process.

At Karolinska Huddinge, we work every day with many exciting patient groups and great diversity. We meet families and colleagues from all cultures around the world. We have several unique operations for Stockholm and Sweden, such as an HIV clinic for pregnant women and the Perinatal Psychiatry Unit, where we collaborate interprofessionally with psychiatry. We also have a national assignment in fetal medicine. We were the first to start caseload midwifery, "My Midwife." Since autumn 2020, we have also assisted women who meet the criteria in giving birth at home with the support of our midwives.

We work in a learning and research-friendly environment with a focus on both medical and nursing research. We work evidence-based and place great importance on what the pregnant and birthing woman desires.

We are looking for midwives with extensive experience in childbirth who can take responsibility for patient safety, quality, and employee engagement. As a midwife at BB Huddinge, you work with the birthing woman during antenatal care, labor, and postnatal care. We work in teams around the birthing women. The tasks are varied. Weekend and evening shifts are included.

The advertisement concerns two fixed-term positions until June 1, 2027.

Requirements:

• Registered Midwife.
• Experience working as a midwife weighs heavily in the recruitment process.

About the recruitment process
