Karlshamn Port is now establishing a new strategic position as Head of Port Authority and Security. Here you will have the mandate to build, develop, and lead a socially critical operation. This is a role for you who wish to combine maritime expertise with leadership and set the direction for a modern and sustainable port.

Karlshamn Port is one of Sweden's largest ports and serves as a strategically important hub for trade, industry, and energy supply in the south-eastern Baltic Sea region.

As Head of Port Authority and Security, you have overall responsibility for the port's security and protection work as well as the exercise of public authority. You will work in close collaboration with external parties such as authorities, shipping companies, and security providers, as well as site managers and internal functions.

Since this is a newly established position, you will have the opportunity to establish structures, develop working methods, and set the long-term direction for the area. You will have significant authority with short decision-making paths. The role is a leading position and will be part of the company's management group, reporting directly to the CEO.

About the Role

The role involves both strategic and operational work to ensure that the business is conducted safely, legally, and efficiently, in close dialogue with the company's management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Acting as Port Captain and port authority with responsibility for official decisions and operational supervision
• Leading and developing security protection work
• Responsible for ISPS and maritime security
• Driving operational security and incident management
• Having strategic responsibility for information and cyber security
• Developing working methods through routines, processes, and training initiatives

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a nautical officer education and experience from port operations or the maritime industry. Competence in security or security protection issues is considered an asset.

As a person, we particularly value your ability to take initiative to drive development and authority-related matters. Since the role involves many contacts with authorities, customers, and other stakeholders, you must have good communication skills in both Swedish and English. The role requires a driver's license and Swedish citizenship.
