The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) has a consolidated responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and management of command support systems within the Swedish Armed Forces.

FMTIS operates continuously during peace, crisis, and war, meaning the unit is constantly deployed both nationally and internationally.

The unit has more than 1,800 employees spread across more than 30 locations in the country.

 

You will belong to GE South (GE Syd) and report directly to the Unit Commander, becoming part of the unit's leadership/staff, which operates with the majority of its employees in Karlskrona. GE South conducts operations that ensure the Swedish Armed Forces' ability to communicate and command, 24/7, year-round. The unit consists of approximately 190 employees distributed across 7 departments on 6 locations within the Military Region South (MR S) area.

Main Responsibilities

  • Represent, lead, and develop personnel and operations within your own unit in both the Wartime Organization (KRO) and the Peacetime Organization (GRO).
  • Contribute to the implementation, quality assurance, follow-up, and reporting of assignments within your area of responsibility.
  • Contribute to occupational health, environmental, and safety issues concerning your own unit.
  • Ensure that the business management system is implemented in the operations.
  • Participate in the unit's budgeting, follow-up, and forecasting work.
  • Participate in the unit's development, planning, and quality work.
  • Prepare materials for follow-up, analysis, and reports regarding production.
  • Prepare, handle, and store classified documents.
  • Collaborate with referred units, customers, and authorities within the total defense.
  • Act as the unit's Production Manager (operational-strategic).

 

On-Call Duties

  • Be prepared to take over the Unit Commander's duties.
  • Conduct/participate in investigations and projects.
  • Participate in centrally conducted dialogues/collaboration with customers/commissioners.
  • Be responsible for measures according to specific delegation.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Qualifications

  • At least three years of documented experience in personnel responsibility and workforce leadership at the operational level within a government agency.
  • Valid driver's license, category B.

Personal Attributes

As a person, you are open and social, but can also act independently. You have good collaboration skills and are accustomed to taking significant personal responsibility. You are service-oriented, stress-resistant, and have good analytical skills.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Service at the battalion staff level or equivalent civilian level.
  • Experience with and knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' command system.

 

Other Information

Employment type: Permanent employment as a civilian, starting with a 6-month probationary period for those not already employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.

 

Employment level: Full-time

 

Work location: Karlskrona, with travel to other locations in the country.

 

Start date: As agreed.
