The primary task of the IT Department is to provide IT services to the entire Swedish Police Authority. The IT Department is a crucial part of crime prevention and law enforcement work. IT is one of the most important tools for streamlining the police force and improving the quality of police work. The department develops and modernizes the police's IT systems, and the agency is investing heavily in strengthening the department with new specialist expertise and the latest technology to benefit citizens and employees in police operations.
Operational Business Systems are responsible for providing IT support for operational activities, primarily for officers in the field. The Resource Planning System ensures that our resource planning system functions effectively. We have an incredibly important mission in supporting operational activities while simultaneously undergoing a major modernization of the system.
We are now looking for a Software Developer to join our team, based in Stockholm or Linköping. The role may involve working with several different teams and business areas.
Job Description:
You will join a cross-functional development team responsible for an IT system used for resource planning. We are currently in an expansion phase with multiple ongoing projects for our self-developed system.
The work involves programming in C++. Our developers are involved in the entire process, from requirements analysis to the finished product. The work is varied, and you will be involved in designing, building, testing, demonstrating, and maintaining our system.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Several years of work experience in C++ programming
- Several years of work experience with Git
- Work experience with Web Services and XML
- Work experience with SQL databases
- A university or vocational education in IT. Alternatively, you have equivalent acquired experience that the Swedish Police Authority deems relevant
- Excellent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
The position requires Swedish citizenship.
It is meritorious if you also have:
- Work experience in writing unit tests
- Work experience in Linux environments
- Work experience with agile working methods, such as Scrum
- Work experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container technologies
- Work experience with Jenkins
- Work experience with Kafka or other event platforms
- Work experience with large business-critical systems
