Hotel Union Geiranger is now seeking dedicated employees for the restaurant team ahead of the season. Here you will have the opportunity to work in an international hotel environment with a fast pace, strong team spirit, and fantastic surroundings in the heart of the World Heritage Site Geirangerfjord.

The hotel is one of Norway's most well-known hotels and offers restaurants, a spa, conference facilities, and one of the country's most impressive wine cellars with over 10,000 bottles and nearly 1,000 different labels. Every year, guests from all over the world are welcomed who seek first-class service and unique experiences.

We are currently looking for:

  • Waiters/Waitresses
  • Wine Steward / Sommelier

Waiter/Waitress

As a waiter/waitress, you will become part of a professional restaurant team where the focus is on service, quality, and excellent guest experiences. The hotel serves dinner to over 350 guests every evening, and the work is primarily in the evenings, although breakfast and lunch shifts may also occur.

Responsibilities

  • Serving in the buffet restaurant and à la carte
  • Guest interaction and high level of service
  • Preparation and cleaning of restaurant areas
  • Collaboration with the kitchen and other departments
  • Ensuring smooth service flow during busy periods

We are looking for someone who

  • Has experience from restaurants, hotels, or serving
  • Thrives in fast-paced and hectic environments
  • Is positive, service-oriented, and solution-focused
  • Works well both independently and in a team
  • Is proficient in English; Scandinavian languages are an advantage

Sommelier

Do you want to work with one of Norway's most exciting wine cellars? As a sommelier at Hotel Union, you will have a central role in the restaurant operations and the opportunity to further develop the wine experience for the hotel's international guests.

Responsibilities

  • Active sales and wine recommendations
  • Wine service and guidance for guests
  • Responsible for the operation and development of the wine cellar
  • Further development of wine lists and wine experiences
  • Training and development of the restaurant team
  • Collaboration with the kitchen and restaurant management regarding food and wine pairings

We are looking for someone who

  • Is a trained sommelier/wine steward
  • Has a passion for wine and gastronomy
  • Has experience from hotels or restaurants with high service standards
  • Is confident in the role of salesperson and host
  • Is structured and responsible
  • Is proficient in English; Scandinavian languages are an advantage
