MLA in Gynecology - Clinic and Surgery
Meliva Gyn Läkarvillan is currently recruiting an MLA (Medical Director/Lead Medical Advisor) within gynecology, where both clinic consultations and surgical procedures are part of the care offering.
Meliva Gyn Läkarvillan is located in the St. Göran's area on Kungsholmen in Stockholm. After the summer, we will move to completely newly renovated and well-adapted premises just a stone's throw from our current location. Our new premises will be designed for optimal workflows with both patients and employees in focus.
Within Meliva, quality is paramount, and the MLA function is central to our operations. As an MLA with us, you will be part of the management team, and we see you as a natural right-hand person to the Operations Manager and vice versa. As an MLA, you will contribute to modern, learning, and cohesive specialist care where development and quality are at the center, and where you will have the opportunity to work clinically alongside your MLA duties.
The Role
As an MLA within Meliva, you will also have a broader context than the local level, as you will be part of Meliva's Medical Council, where all company MLAs meet twice a year to exchange experiences. Additionally, we have specific extended medical councils within Gynecology where MLAs from our gynecological units meet to discuss challenges and new findings. Meliva also has a central Quality Function and Chief Physician who provide support and advice on various matters as needed. Collaboration and knowledge exchange with other operations in Sweden and other countries where Meliva operates are encouraged.
As an MLA within Meliva, you have significant responsibility, but you are never alone.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Operations Manager in medical issues and patient safety.
- Hold monthly physician meetings focused on development.
- Contribute to developing the clinical work of the unit and spreading best practices.
- Build relationships with Meliva's other care units within specialist and primary care.
- Monitor medical quality (deviations, complaints, LÖF, IVO) and coordinate patient safety work.
- Participate in external networks to monitor and implement new care forms and methods within gynecological care.
Who are you?
You are a confident and experienced specialist physician in gynecology who combines clinical competence with a development-oriented mindset. You are an advisor, a standard-setter, and a culture carrier all in one – and you thrive in a role where quality, patient safety, and development are central.
Personal qualities:
- Analytical and structured, with the ability to interpret medical quality data and translate it into actions.
- Relationship-oriented and communicative, accustomed to creating security in medical matters and leading professional forums.
- Development-oriented and proactive, with the ability to inspire and drive change.
- Pedagogical and inclusive, with a good ability to coach and contribute to learning.
- Understanding of the connection between medical quality, economics, staffing, and patient safety.
Competency profile:
- Specialist in Gynecology/Obstetrics with at least three years of experience.
- Experience in medical leadership (MLA, operations management, or patient safety/quality work).
- Good ability to work data-driven, analyze quality results, and lead development initiatives.
- Strong communication skills in speech and writing, fluent Swedish.
What distinguishes you in the role:
- You ensure that medical perspectives carry the right weight in management discussions and strategic decisions.
- You create structure, follow-up, and engagement in medical quality work.
- You think modern and forward-looking, with a stable anchoring in evidence and patient safety.
- You contribute to strengthening Meliva's professional pride and culture by being present and engaged.
