Therapist for the Centre Against Violence – Region Västerbotten

The Psychiatric Clinic of Southern Lapland provides outpatient specialist psychiatric care and collaborates closely with other actors to create a cohesive and equitable healthcare system.

The Centre Against Violence (CMV) is a new operation organizationally belonging to Lycksele Municipality and conducted in collaboration between eight municipalities in Southern Lapland and Norsjö, as well as Region Västerbotten. CMV works to prevent and counteract violence in close relationships through support, treatment, coordination, and knowledge dissemination.

Region Västerbotten contributes to the operation with a therapist position. The employment is located at the Psychiatric Clinic of Southern Lapland, but the work is carried out in close collaboration with municipal colleagues within CMV and covers the entire area of cooperation. The operation is under construction, which provides good opportunities to help shape working methods, routines, and collaboration from the start.

Job Responsibilities

As a therapist within the Centre Against Violence, you work with support and treatment for victims of violence, both adults and children. The assignment includes crisis support, counseling therapy, and trauma-oriented support, as well as assessment and support for mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, and PTSD. The work also includes coordination and collaboration with healthcare, social services, and other authorities, as well as support for secondary target groups and participation in information and training initiatives regarding violence in close relationships. Furthermore, it includes documentation, follow-up, and the development of common routines and care flows. The work is independent and varied, combining clinical treatment work with collaborative and developmental assignments in a geographically large region.

The position involves travel within Southern Lapland and Norsjö municipalities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have relevant higher education, for example as a social worker or a licensed nurse, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience in therapeutic conversations and are accustomed to meeting people in vulnerable situations. You work independently and systematically and have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. A B-driver's license and the ability to travel for work are required.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with violence in close relationships, trauma treatment, or other counseling therapy. Experience of collaboration between municipality and region, work with both children and adults as well as perpetrators of violence, as well as conducting training or information initiatives, is also seen as meritorious.
