Nurse for the Mental Disability Clinic (PSFN), Östersund

Within the psychiatric clinic in Östersund, all specialist care is housed under one roof, providing opportunities for close collaboration across professions and units, as well as internal mobility and development chances for you as an employee.

We are now looking for nurses for the Mental Disability Clinic, PSFN. At the clinic, we receive patients aged 18 and older who are in need of assessment, investigation, and treatment based on complex and long-term psychiatric issues. Our clinic hours are daytime Monday–Friday, on all non-holiday days, and we apply flexible working hours within given frameworks and regulations.

With us, you will have the opportunity to meet different patient groups. The work is varied, with part of it taking place at the clinic, but you will also work outside the clinic, meeting patients and relatives in their local environment and collaborating with neighboring care providers, municipalities, and various operators.

Collaboration with other units that patients come into contact with is important, primarily inpatient wards and municipal health care, but also other clinics within Psychiatry and Primary Care.

Work at PSFN involves creating good relationships, both with patients, relatives, and societal actors with whom psychiatry collaborates. At PSFN, the work as a nurse is independent and varied. Based on the needs of the operation, you have the opportunity to plan your own day.

Responsibilities

As a nurse at the unit, you are responsible, together with a contact person (assistant nurse), for a number of patients and thus have the opportunity to follow your patients over time. There is good collaboration with doctors and other professions within the area.

Here you will work together with the patient and the patient's network, with staff at the housing facility or other actors around the patient. You have an important coordinating role and contribute to creating person-centered care where the patient is involved. You participate in annual follow-ups, work with safety planning, create crisis plans, and plan and carry out preventive and follow-up measures.

As a nurse, you ensure that plans regarding outpatient involuntary care are followed and contribute to the coordination of preventive work for our patients. You mentor colleagues and students and actively participate in development work ongoing at the unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with an interest in psychiatric nursing. Specialist education with a focus on psychiatry is meritorious, as is experience of psychiatric work and disabilities.

As a person, you are secure and stable and can show calm even in difficult interaction situations. Previous experience of psychiatric treatment work and psychosis care is valuable. We are looking for you who have drive and commitment to contribute to developing routines and working methods within the operation, and who see employee participation as a natural part.

Since car travel is included in the position, you must hold a Class B driver's license and have driving experience.
