In this role, you combine strategic and operational work while building close collaborations with Transitio's lessees and other vehicle owners. You are driven by creating long-term value and building good relationships, and you thrive in a role where business acumen and collaboration are in focus.

About Transitio

Transitio is a company owned by twenty regions in Sweden. Its mission is to procure, finance, and manage rail vehicles primarily for regional rail traffic across Sweden's regions. The purpose is primarily to optimize the owners' vehicle costs and to ensure high quality and competence in the areas of procurement, management, and maintenance.

Here, you will work in an organization with short decision-making paths, allowing you to quickly take responsibility and contribute your own ideas. If you want to influence and develop working methods, processes, and quality methodologies in an stimulating, future-oriented environment, you will thrive here. Transitio offers technology-intensive work where you have the opportunity to develop within railway technology and vehicle maintenance.

With a focus on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and sustainability, Transitio is an inclusive company that invests in continuous competence development. Here you also get the chance to participate in trade fairs and develop within an industry with high ambitions. Values are a central part of Transitio's corporate culture, and they describe themselves as team players, initiators, and value creators.

Job Responsibilities

As Fleet Manager, you lead and are responsible for the fleet management of the Coradia fleet in accordance with the ECM regulation and Transitio's management model. You are responsible for the business and strategic aspects of the management, focusing on maintaining and improving the vehicles' safety, performance, and functionality for continuous value creation throughout the vehicles' lifecycle.

You are technically interested with a good business understanding and proactive leadership that creates prerequisites for and further develops long-term and sustainable management work. The role involves working at many interfaces – internally with colleagues and externally with lessees, other vehicle owners, maintenance suppliers, and railway operators. As the client/orderer, you participate in several technically and commercially complex projects and act as the hub connecting technology, business, and relationships.

Examples of tasks and areas of responsibility:

  • Lead and coordinate the planning of the vehicles' long-term asset management and development
  • Identify and monitor relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), and take action in case of deviations
  • Act as the client/orderer for management projects regarding upgrades, conversions, or modifications
  • Actively contribute to internal development initiatives and methodology development within the management area
  • Actively collaborate with Transitio's lessees, maintenance suppliers, railway operators, and other vehicle owners
  • Represent the management team in projects within and outside your own area of responsibility.

Education, Experience, and Personal Qualities

  • University degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Fleet Manager, Project Manager, or similar leadership role, with documented experience driving business development in technically complex systems with long lifecycles such as trains, boats, aircraft, or other vehicles.
  • Understanding of lifecycle perspectives and business trade-offs.
  • Very good skills in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

To succeed in this role, we see that you have good collaboration skills and thrive with many contact surfaces. You are communicative, non-hierarchical, and build trust in both internal and external relationships. With good self-awareness and a holistic view, you see how your role contributes to Transitio's mission and act with an understanding of the business's goals and prerequisites.

You are self-motivated, responsible, and have an easy time planning and structuring your work. With business acumen and integrity, you act and drive issues forward within your area of responsibility. You have a clear goal focus and are flexible when prerequisites change. Curious and development-oriented, you turn ideas and planned activities into action and contribute to a culture of participation and engagement.
