From San Francisco to Salvador to Seoul, people around the world are expected to live long and healthy lives, and medicines need to reach every corner of the globe. Envirotainer ensures that temperature-sensitive medicines are transported safely from where they are produced to the patient. Together, we work to meet our customers' needs for innovative and reliable solutions – available from any location to any destination. We are looking for you with years of experience in mechanics who wants to work in a role where you can contribute your expertise in several different areas. Does this sound like something for you? Read on!

About the role

Envirotainer was founded in 1985 and today has more than 10,000 active temperature-controlled containers worldwide. We transport millions of doses of medicine daily for all types of pharmaceutical manufacturers and cover over 2,000 pharmaceutical trading areas in more than 100 countries and 300 airports. With over 40 years of industry experience, the world's largest pharmaceutical companies trust our products and our delivery – from large volumes of medicine to individual patient samples. Envirotainer currently has approximately 450 employees globally, of which around 150 work at the office and production site in Rosersberg. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will belong to a mechanics team of 8 employees, distributed across a Swedish and a German site. In addition to your immediate team, you will also collaborate with production, the maintenance organization, other engineering teams, and procurement, and you will report to the Head of Design & Mechanics.

A few words from your future direct manager

"Hi! My name is Karl and I am the manager of our mechanical design group, i.e., the group that works on mechanical designs and mechanical technical issues for our products. I have worked at the company since 2011 in various roles within R&D. Sometimes I get asked what has made me stay so long at Envirotainer, and my answer is that it never gets boring here. We are on a constant development journey, and there is always something to get involved in. It is a feeling that makes me, and my group, look forward to coming to work every day."

What we offer

  • The opportunity to work with a highly socially important product – Our cold chain containers transport life-saving medicines, and your work is a crucial part of the chain to secure access to vital medicines worldwide.
  • Closeness to the entire chain – You work closely with development, production, procurement, and maintenance, with direct access to those who build and service the products.
  • Development opportunities – Here you get the opportunity to contribute your knowledge in a company that is constantly maturing and developing, but also to work closely with senior colleagues with extensive knowledge from the company, which we believe will contribute to your continued development.

Responsibilities

For this role, we are looking for you with knowledge and interest in various types of mechanical-related issues. We use different design strategies depending on our current needs. Sometimes the focus is on low manufacturing cost and simple production, while other times it is on functionality, repairability, or flexibility. A central part of our development is also to achieve a good balance between weight and function, as our products are transported by air. Therefore, we actively work to minimize weight, both for performance and climate reasons.

You will, for example:

  • Conduct investigations, root cause analyses (RCA), and other analyses that form a central part of the group's work.
  • Work with documentation and drawings, including drawing corrections, component specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Prepare designs (e.g., concepts, models, drawings/specifications, and descriptions) and classifications for new designs or changes to existing ones.
  • Conduct design reviews and contribute to improved review procedures, checklists, and standards.
  • Prepare test specifications, perform tests, and demonstrate compliance within your technical area.

We are looking for you who

In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities, interest in the role, and Envirotainer as a company. We see you as a person with a strong technical interest, a structured approach, and good collaboration skills who is happy to share your knowledge with others.

In addition, you have:

  • A university or civil engineering degree in mechanics, mechatronics, electronics, or similar.
  • At least a few years of work experience in mechanical design.
  • Good knowledge of English and Swedish, as both languages are used in the work.
