Welcome to the team at the fantastic Geriatric Acute Care Unit (GAVA)!
At the Geriatric Acute Care Unit (GAVA), you as a nurse will work across your entire scope of competence with elderly, frail patients with complex needs. We work based on the geriatric working model Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA), which involves a clearly structured assessment that increases patient safety and leads to a person-centered approach. At GAVA, there are clear routines that create a meaningful, safe, and secure workplace where all professions are valued, respected, and given the opportunity to take responsibility and grow in their professional roles. We work with clear routines, close to skilled colleagues across all professions, with stable medical continuity.
Here is how one of your future colleagues describes working at GAVA at the Medical Specialist Clinic at the Hospital in Motala:
"The best thing about working at GAVA is that I am constantly developing in my role as a nurse, as I encounter patients with many and often complex diagnoses. Geriatrics is an exciting medical challenge. Being involved in working with the whole picture around the patient is very rewarding, not least because small changes can make such a big difference. It is together with engaged colleagues, a strong team spirit, and a pronounced focus on development that makes me thrive here at GAVA."
Our Offer
We are a unit where daily life is filled with both joy and seriousness. Here you will meet patients who need your knowledge, warmth, and professionalism – and you will meet colleagues who support you, laugh together, and provide backing when things get tough.
With us, you get:
- A secure introduction with a dedicated supervisor who is a registered nurse or specialist nurse. After the introduction, you will receive a mentor who provides the support you need, as well as regular follow-up meetings with your nearest manager.
- The opportunity to be part of a team that collaborates well, leverages each other's strengths, supports one another, and works towards common goals.
- The opportunity to develop your competence and grow in your role as a nurse by caring for patients with complex needs.
- A mentor and an introduction that make you feel secure from day one, especially if you are new to the profession.
- The opportunity to work in improvement and development projects that benefit the care of elderly patients.
We are keen that your working hours are balanced with the rest of your life. Therefore, you have great opportunities to influence your schedule. We offer the 90/10 working time model, which means you work 90 percent but receive 100 percent of your salary. The majority of the 90 percent is scheduled, while a smaller portion is flexible and used to cover absences due to illness and leave.
