Business Area 3 is represented by Anesthesia/Operation, ICU/IMC/Post-op, and the Sterile Technology Unit, with hospital units in Lidköping, Skövde, and Falköping.

Description

In the autumn of 2026, the Intermediate Medical Care (IMC) unit is planned to restart. The unit shares premises with Post-op 1, enabling close collaboration in daily work. Working in a newly established unit brings both opportunities and development, and you will become a key part of shaping routines, working methods, and a strong team spirit. It is an exciting phase where your competence and commitment truly make a difference.

We are therefore looking for you who want to take the next step in the development of IMC – which will be part of a cohesive unit together with ICU and Post-op. Here, you will work in modern facilities and in well-functioning teams.

Intermediate Medical Care is a care location with extended capabilities compared to a standard ward, while not offering the most advanced care, which Intensive Care (ICU) does. By providing care to patients in a middle ground between standard ward care and intensive care, IMC can relieve pressure on both the intensive care unit and standard wards.

IMC is a specialist department with 4 beds for more severely ill patients requiring increased monitoring, advanced treatment, and nursing. The department is equipped with advanced medical technology for care in various conditions. We primarily care for adults and admit patients from all hospital clinics.

Job Responsibilities

As a new employee at IMC, you will be offered a thorough introduction to ensure you feel secure in your new workplace. Prior to the launch, there is also the opportunity for extended advanced training in intensive care to create good prerequisites for employees to care for critically ill patients.

As a nurse at IMC, you will work at the top of your competence in more specialized care with high monitoring and advanced technology. You will work in a team together with nursing assistants and doctors. Here, you will develop with the patient in focus. You will be responsible for fewer patients but with greater care needs compared to a standard ward – something that makes the work professionally challenging.

IMC operates 24/7, which means shifts during the day, evening, and night.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with a few years of experience in inpatient care or emergency care. You have good collaboration skills and are open to development, both personally and professionally. You are accustomed to working in teams.

Your personal qualities are significant, and we are looking for you who are confident in your role, positive, and engaged. You should have good collaboration skills as we work in teams around the patient, as well as a good ability to handle stressful situations. We will place great emphasis on previous experience and personal suitability.
