We are Southern Lapland's leading education center with a wide range of upper secondary education, ski gymnasium (NIU), adult education, and special school for young people and adults. Our vision is to create drive for lifelong learning together – a learning that is the key to life!

As a student coach, you support students on the Introduction Program in their daily lives. Many students on the Introduction Program have a complex situation both inside and outside of school. Your task as a student coach is to act as a bridge between the student, the school, and society – where you become a guiding resource. You work with mapping, motivational efforts, supervision, and conversations with the goal of developing and supporting the student through their schooling. As a student coach, you collaborate closely with teachers and student health personnel, as well as external contacts with the police and social services.

YOUR PROFILE

We believe in the right competence in the right place.

We are primarily looking for you who are trained as a teacher, social pedagogue, social worker, or have equivalent education assessed as equivalent. Experience working with young people, especially students with NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) diagnoses, is considered meritorious.

You have a low-affective approach and find it easy to maintain a calm exterior even under pressure. Your strength lies in your endurance – you have good patience and the ability to stick to your processes even if you encounter resistance. The role of student coach is a varied assignment where we direct resources and your competence towards the needs of the students and the operation. Therefore, it is important that you have the ability to adapt and prioritize tasks according to current conditions. As a person, you have a solid interest in influencing and making a difference in people's lives. Together with your educational and work background, you understand human complexity at both individual and group levels. You work well together with others and have the ability to build good relationships with both internal and external contacts.
