Nordic Sugar is now looking for a Machine Operator for our Transport, Dampening, and Sample Washing department – join us and help ensure efficient and safe operations in a central part of our business.

We are now looking for a Machine Operator for our Transport, Dampening, and Sample Washing department, where we work together to strengthen our transport organization and our water treatment operations. The department is responsible for servicing the factory and handles work with loaders, forklifts, and dumpers, as well as operating water treatment. As a Machine Operator, you will primarily work with emptying containers, handling waste, and loading and unloading goods in cooperation with the warehouse.

The work is largely carried out outdoors, but some tasks also take place inside the factory. The main focus of the role is forklift operation, where you play a central role in daily work. At the same time, there is some rotation within the team, which means you also need to stay updated and be able to handle a loader when needed. The group consists of ten people who together are responsible for the department's machinery, water treatment, and Sample Washing.

A varied and challenging job that follows the two periods of the year at the sugar factory: the beet campaign (September to January) when we manufacture sugar and feed products from sugar beets, and the maintenance period (February to August). The work is performed during daytime with flexibility during the maintenance period, and during daytime with a 6-day schedule during the beet campaign (Monday-Friday full days, Saturday half-day). The position is a permanent employment and reports to the Department Manager for Transport and Dampening.

Main responsibilities:

• Join a team responsible for Nordic Sugar's internal transport.
• Operate counterbalance forklifts, loaders, and tractors.
• Take water samples at our water treatment facility.
• Work with maintenance and operation of the factory's water treatment facility.
• Work with gardening and groundskeeping.
• Work with other recurring tasks within the department and at the factory.

Your background

• You have a technical or mechanical basic education at the upper secondary level, or equivalent experience.
• You have experience in forklift operation and hold a forklift license.
• You hold a C2 certificate for loaders.
• You have basic mechanical knowledge and a good practical understanding.
• You have good physical fitness, as the work is active and takes place both indoors and outdoors.
• You have a strong safety mindset and a good understanding of the importance of safe work – this is a central part of the role.
• You are proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and have basic knowledge of the Office suite.
• Having an ADR certificate and training for mobile work platforms (lift) is meritorious; otherwise, training can be offered to the right person.
• It is also meritorious if you have certificates for brush cutters and/or chainsaws.
