Description

Ward 6 at Kungälv Hospital is part of the Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation area. On the Stroke Unit, we primarily care for stroke patients but also treat patients with other internal medicine diagnoses.

Working Approach

The ward has 16 beds. As a nurse with us, you will work with the acute phase of the stroke process together with nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists in cross-professional teams.

All patients on the ward have their own rooms equipped with the latest technology in the field. Here, we actively work to ensure that all employees across different professions are offered the best conditions to utilize each other's and the patients' resources and competencies. The ward is equipped with an advanced patient call system that contributes to a quiet care environment.

In the role of a nurse, you will take personal responsibility, which is why it is important that you are secure as a person and that you work from a person-centered and rehabilitative approach. You enjoy meeting people, are sensitive and empathetic, and have a desire to collaborate to achieve the best care and quality for our patients. All newly hired nurses receive support during their first year through a mentor nurse.

Qualifications

Licensed Nurse. Experience in stroke care, emergency care, or elderly care is an advantage.

We prefer that you are computer literate and can express yourself well in speech and writing.

Clinical Base Year

For you who are a newly graduated nurse/X-ray nurse, the Clinical Base Year is included during the first year of your permanent employment. The Clinical Base Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. It also includes shadowing in other units to give you a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an initiative designed to give you the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.
