We are looking for a colleague for the orthopedic clinic, with an initial placement within the back surgery team.

The activity is part of the orthopedics area, and the orthopedic clinic's back surgery outpatient department is responsible for back surgery in the county.

At the back surgery clinic, a multidisciplinary team works consisting of orthopedic surgeons with specialist competence in back surgery, physiotherapists, nurses, social workers, and medical secretaries. The work at the back surgery clinic includes investigation and assessment prior to potential back surgery. The most common back surgeries concern herniated discs, spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal), and fusion surgeries.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who are a nurse with experience or interest in teamwork. You find it easy to collaborate and work together with other professions in a team. In the role, you will be a nurse with leadership responsibility in the team, where you have a leading role in following set goals and reporting back to the unit manager for the orthopedic clinic.

With us, you work daytime, Monday to Friday. You will have a broad and varied job with varying tasks, such as:

  • Booking and planning of waiting lists
  • Handling of referrals and administrative tasks included in the assignment
  • Advice and contact with patients via phone and 1177
  • Dressing changes
  • Registration clinic
  • Assisting work at doctor's clinics

All referrals to the back surgery clinic are reviewed and prioritized by a senior physician in orthopedics with a focus on back surgery. Thereafter, the patient is called to the back surgery clinic for assessment. The first visit involves a careful examination of the patient's back problems by a physiotherapist. At a subsequent patient conference, the patient's back problems are discussed and assessed by a doctor, physiotherapist, nurse, and social worker, after which a decision is made regarding further handling.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with experience from the profession, which is a requirement.

It is meritorious if you have a few years of experience within orthopedics, alternatively experience of telephone advice, reception work, bookings in Cosmic, or work within orthopedic operations.

We value personal qualities such as good cooperation skills, responsibility-taking, flexibility, and stress tolerance. Meritorious previous leadership assignments as well as experience from Orthopedics. Requires that the applicant can work independently.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
