About the Role

As a welding teacher at Astar, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching within upper secondary welding courses. The teaching should be characterized by clarity, structure, and high expectations, in line with the Astar model and our shared value base of professional pride, perseverance, and joy in work.

The role also involves an active responsibility for OJE (Occupational Job Education/Work-integrated learning), where you ensure that students' internships are pedagogically integrated into the education, followed up on, and assessed in an equitable and quality-assured manner.

Courses and Focus

You will teach in upper secondary welding courses and supervise students in several welding methods.

Formal Requirements (Mandatory)

To be considered for the position, you must meet the requirements of the Welding Commission and the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen):

• IWS-certified teacher
• Certified according to ISO 9606 for pipe welding
• Documented competence in the following welding methods:

• MIG
• MAG
• TIG
• MMA

Education and Professional Experience (at least one of the following options)

• Adequate education in the field or
• At least 2 years of professional experience from the current industry within the last 5 years

Pedagogical Competence (at least one of the following requirements)

• Pedagogical education equivalent to at least 1 full-time semester, or
• At least 2 years of documented experience in educating adults and/or young adults (16–25 years), or
• At least 2 years of experience in introducing and/or supervising new employees in working life
