About Us

The Department of Surgery at Nyköping Hospital operates in new, state-of-the-art facilities that promote a good working environment and enable efficient patient flows. The department is centrally located within the hospital, in close proximity to the ICU/HDU and the upcoming day surgery department.

Approximately 5,000 surgeries are performed annually within the department, covering surgery/urology, orthopedics, gynecology/obstetrics, and ENT. One-third of these are emergency surgeries.

We are an emergency hospital providing specialized care, both acute and planned. Around the clock, we offer healthcare characterized by quality, accessibility, a holistic approach, and care. In our operational development, we focus heavily on creating efficient patient flows, working process-oriented, and smartly as a team. Leadership and employee engagement are central parts of the operation, where competence development and job satisfaction are of great importance.

Your Responsibilities

As an anesthesia nurse, you will work in teams within the perioperative care chain and perform some independent work during on-call hours. In your role, you take responsibility for your anesthesiological tasks and work for the whole within the team and around the patient. Together, we perform emergency and planned surgeries around the clock.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Trauma management according to ATLS protocols.
• Anesthesiological assistance during emergency alarms.
• Anesthesia assistance during certain radiological activities (MRI, CT scans).
• Placement of central lines.
• Anesthesia assistance during ECT treatments.

Your Qualifications

You are a registered nurse with specialist education in anesthesiology nursing. As a person, you are service-oriented and have good collaboration skills. You take initiative and responsibility for your own tasks as well as the overall picture. Flexibility and loyalty are your strengths, as the work as an anesthesia nurse is based on teamwork. You possess maturity both personally and professionally, and we would prefer that you have a few years of experience.

Employment Terms

Permanent employment with a start date as agreed. All employees have individual schedules. Day, evening, and night shifts, as well as individual long weekend schedules, are included.
